The benefits of CadCam, which is what I use in my office is CEREC. I've used CEREC since 1999. I've used it for a long time and have been very happy with CadCam technology. The benefit of CadCam technology, or being able to make a crown in a single appointment for the patient is it's truly just better, it's faster and it's easier. The patient will have a crown in a single appointment within an hour, hour and a half. They'll walk out the door with a brand new crown with absolutely the best materials that are out there.
So that means they're only in my office one time. They're only made numb once, which most patients don't like to be made numb. And we seal that tooth up immediately. That way they don't have a temporary that can fall off, that can be sensitive, you know, while they're waiting for their crown to be fabricated, you know, at another lab.
As well as the benefit of CadCam technology is we rarely have to use those goopy dental materials, you know, that you get a mouthful that, you know, certainly cause you to salivate, can make some patients gag, especially if they have a gag reflex.
So with CadCam technology, we can scan their entire mouth within minutes. So the technology is just growing. It's just getting better. It's becoming more comprehensive. Materials continue to get better and prettier and stronger and everything else. So it's important to stay in the forefront of that technology because it's just truly changing. And these days it's changing just annually, there's something new out there.
