Dr. Michael D. Haight grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As a young man, he always knew he wanted to be a dentist and in 1995, he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. After completing his education, our dentist chose to return home to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The early years of his dental career were spent in an associateship with the distinguished Dr. Charles E. Wood. For five years, they practiced together as partners in their private practice. Dr. Haight then made the leap to establish own his own dental practice.
As the owner of Parkway Dental, Dr. Haight is able to set incredibly high standards for both dentistry quality and patient experience. He works alongside an extremely capable support staff who help him ensure visitors feel welcome and confident from the second they step through the doors of our Albuquerque, NM, dental office.

Dr Michael is very efficient and gentle with his assistants and patients alike. I have never been so comfortable in the dentists chair contrary to the old " white knuckles " and smiling all the way. He comes highly recommended.

Parkway Dental Has a Passion For Providing Community Service
Dr. Haight and the entire Parkway Dental team proudly serve at the Mission of Mercy (MOM). MoM is a two-day free dental clinic run by the New Mexico Dental Association Foundation. It connects dentists and their teams to underserved populations who cannot pay for dental care. The great need for this service has been proven by MoM’s expansion – it is now the largest charity event in our state.
Dr. Haights' Care Goes Beyond Borders
Dr. Haight and his wife have spent years traveling to Guatemala to provide life-changing dentistry to the Achi, a Maya ethnic group. This indigenous group’s medical needs are tragically overlooked by their home government. They live 10 miles off the electric grid and in some cases struggle to obtain clean water.
Many Achi have never had access to dental floss or other necessary basic treatments like fluoride and sealants. Our dentist provides them with foundational care to help immediately improve their teeth. In addition to providing dental care, the Haights educate parents and children about the importance of oral health. We also teach them about preventative care so they can avoid the need for dental interventions later on.
This fulfilling opportunity was created via a partnership between the New Mexico’s Desert Springs Church and Community Health Evangelism and partners in San Miguel Chicaj. The opportunity to combine faith, service, and dentistry is something Dr. Haight will always be grateful for.

A Proud Family Man
Dr. Haight and his wife enjoy traveling, playing with their Labrador Retrievers, riding motorcycles, and discovering new adventures. Dr. and Mrs. Haight have four ambitious children who they are incredibly proud of.
The eldest, Lauren, has a Master's in Nursing and works in Cardiology. Daniel works at Apple and is studying Digital Media with an emphasis in Music at USC Dominguez Hills. Anna is a University of Oklahoma alum and produces the morning news for an ABC affiliate station in Oklahoma City. Taylor has a Master's in Interior Design and works in Dallas, TX, designing dental offices.
